SCROLL

What made you want to join RedBook?

I had always been aware of RedBook and its offering. However, further discussions with Tom and Phil, and learning more about the business, opened my eyes to the depth of what they provide and the tangible benefits they deliver across the sector.

What does your role as Head of Client Services involve?

I lead the project team and oversee how we support clients, from their initial engagement with RedBook through to delivery. That means working closely with colleagues on their projects, supporting the team and developing the internal systems and processes that help us deliver a consistently high standard of service.

Each project has its own demands, so the aim is to give the team a clear structure while allowing them to respond to each client’s specific needs.

What excites you most about the business?

On a personal level, it’s the opportunity to be involved in RedBook’s projects and work with designers and architects whose work I’ve followed for many years.

There’s also a real sense of momentum within RedBook around developing new ideas in an industry that can sometimes feel resistant to change. Initiatives like the RedBook Index are particularly exciting to be part of. In my role, I also have the opportunity to help shape how we work as a team and how that translates into the experience clients have with us.

Before joining RedBook, you ran your own business for seven years. What service did you offer?

Our London-based studio offered a full design and management service from concept through to completion, delivering residential, hospitality and retail projects across London and the Home Counties. These included flagship retail projects on Mount Street in Mayfair and bespoke residential schemes.

Integrating architecture and interiors, we worked closely with the wider consultant team to carry each project through design and construction.

How does that experience inform your role at RedBook?

Running my own studio gave me a close understanding of what clients need from a team and what that team needs to do its work well. Alongside the design itself, I was responsible for managing relationships and making the practical decisions that kept projects moving.

Having worked on the delivery side, I understand both the creative ambition behind a project and the commercial and construction considerations that shape it. That experience informs how I support our team, helping colleagues guide clients through decisions with a clear understanding of what they mean for the project as a whole.

Outside of work, what inspires you or helps you reset?

I spend most of my time outside work with my wife and son. Family life has been an exciting new adventure and a constant source of inspiration in itself.

I’m also an avid golfer and a big sports enthusiast, so whenever I can find the time, I enjoy getting involved in anything active.
